The Google Ads asterisk*

TitanFile shows Google Ads to keep the lights on. Google's ad scripts make network requests (that's how ads work). The 0 uploads claim applies to your files — they never touch any server. The ad scripts are the only external network activity. We wanted to be upfront about it.

Are my files really private? How do I verify?
Yes — every tool runs 100% inside your browser tab. Your files are read into memory locally and never sent to any server. Here's how to verify it yourself:

  1. Press F12 (or right-click → Inspect) to open DevTools.
  2. Click the Network tab and check "Preserve log".
  3. Use any TitanFile tool — compress a PDF, convert an image, anything.
  4. Watch the Network tab. You'll see zero file-upload requests. The only traffic is Google Ads scripts, which we disclose separately.
One more proof: once this page has loaded, disconnect your internet (switch to airplane mode) and try a tool — it still works. If there were a server involved, it would break immediately.
Why do you show ads if you care about privacy?
Ads pay for the domain, hosting, and development time that keeps TitanFile free for everyone. Google's ad scripts make network requests — but only for the ads, never for your files. Your files never leave your device. We're transparent about this in the "Google Ads asterisk" section on the homepage.
What happens to my files when I close the browser tab?
Everything is gone immediately. TitanFile never stores files or results on any server. When you close the tab, the file data held in your browser's memory is released and garbage-collected by your OS. Nothing persists anywhere — not on our servers (there are none), not in the browser cache.
Can I use TitanFile offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. TitanFile is a Progressive Web App (PWA) with a service worker that caches the app shell. After your first visit, all processing tools work without an internet connection. You can also install it to your home screen or desktop for instant offline access. In fact, offline use is one of the best ways to confirm the privacy claim — if it works with no internet, there's obviously no server involved.
Do you store anything about me?
No. We have no accounts, no database, and no server that receives your data. The only data stored is in your own browser — localStorage keeps your recent tools and (if you use it) your saved toolkit list. Google Ads may set cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.
What's the file size limit?
There is no hard server-side limit because files never go to a server. The practical limit is your device's available RAM. Most tools handle files up to several hundred MB without issue. Very large files (1 GB+) may be slow on older devices, but this is a performance constraint of your hardware — not an artificial paywall.
Why is this free?
TitanFile is free because browser-based tools are inexpensive to run — we have no server costs for processing, no storage, and no bandwidth for file transfers. The only real cost is hosting the static files. Google Ads covers that. No freemium tricks, no hidden limits.
Can I use the output files commercially?
Yes. The files you process are yours. TitanFile makes no claim over your output. You can use compressed PDFs, converted images, or any other result for any purpose — personal or commercial — without attribution.
How do I install TitanFile as an app?
TitanFile is a PWA. In Chrome or Edge, look for the Install button in the address bar (or the install button in our header). On mobile, use "Add to Home Screen" in your browser menu. Once installed, it opens in its own window and works offline.
Is the source code available?
The JavaScript that powers each tool is readable in your browser's DevTools (Sources tab) — it's unminified so you can verify the privacy claim yourself. The full repository is proprietary and kept private, which allows us to continue investing in new tools and improvements without forking concerns.
